Revolution day parade

Revolution day parade
13/11/2015

The parade is scheduled to begin friday, november 20, 2015 at 11:00 am.

The National Holiday of Revolution Day in Mexico is celebrated on Monday, November 16 this year where schools, banks, post offices, government offices and many shops are closed.

By National decree, this holiday now officially falls on the third Monday of November.

However, the popular Revolution Day Parade in Puerto Vallarta will take place on Friday, November 20, 2015.

Participants will start meeting up in Old Town Vallarta at 8:00 am in the vicinity of Francisco Madero and Vallarta.

From 1876 until 1911, Porfirio Díaz ruled Mexico. Díaz’s time in office is remembered for the advances he brought in industry and modernization, at the expense of human rights and liberal reforms.

On November 20, 1910, Madero issued the Plan de San Luis Potosí, which declared the Díaz regime illegal and initiated a revolution against Porfirio Díaz.

PUERTO VALLARTA CELEBRATES THE VIRGIN OF GUADALUPE

PUERTO VALLARTA CELEBRATES THE VIRGIN OF GUADALUPE
30/11/2015

For those of you lucky enough to be in town from the first to twelfth of December you are in for a treat.

The Guadalupe Processions

During the first twelve days of December processions take place through the centre of Puerto Vallarta with thousands walking, singing and praying through the streets each night to the main church that bears the name of the patron saint of both Puerto Vallarta and of Mexico. Businesses, hotels, restaurants, neighborhoods and civic associations as well as prominent local families take part in these processions to the church for a special mass they have devoted to the Virgin whose birthday is celebrated on December 12th.
The streets are lined with people watching the processions, people come from the mountain villages to take part and bring with them crafts and traditional foods for sale. It is an excellent time to enjoy tamales and atole on the street as well as many other wonderful treats.
Processions begin each night around nightfall and last until all have passed through the doors of the church. As the twelve days go on the processions get larger until the December 12th procession which last six or more hours with thousands paying their respects to the Virgin of Guadalupe.
It’s a wonderful spectacle steeped in the glorious Mexican and Catholic traditions.

Southwest Offering Daily Denver-PVR Direct Flights

Southwest Offering Daily Denver-PVR Direct Flights
09/11/2015

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - What began with a letter of intent in April is today a reality: on Sunday, November 1, 2015, a Southwest Airlines daily direct flight made its maiden voyage from Denver to the Vallarta-Nayarit International Airport.

This is the fourth inaugural flight this year for Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit; it's the airline's third flight to the region.

"We're very happy to continue to send in flights," commented Robert Robles, Southwest Airline's Mexico GM. "We just began service in June and we've been received with open arms and want to continue growing in this market."

Southwest is the airline with the most clients in Denver, where they operate 185 direct flights to and from 58 destinations.

The Southwest flight from Orange County was inaugurated five months ago, and the executive commented the three new frequencies have had an excellent response thanks to the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta being ideal destinations for what their U.S. clients are seeking.

The new flight departs Denver at 8:45 am and arrives at 1:15 pm, returning at 2:10 pm with a 4:30 pm arrival. The plane carries 143 passengers; the November 1st inaugural flight arrived with 125 passengers.
